Aditya Ranganathan, SEAS/GSAS

Aditya Ranganathan is a PhD candidate (Applied Physics) in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. His research on collective behavior attempts to bring together his prior experience in interdisciplinary education and physics. Aditya also recently transitioned from COO to chief evangelist for Sense, Sensibility, and Science (SSS), a UC Berkeley Big Ideas course—founded by Saul Perlmutter—on critical thinking, group decision making, and applied rationality. Previously, Aditya applied his physics training and interdisciplinary problem-solving skills to develop counter-terrorism techniques for the FBI, create content for the howglobalwarmingworks.org website, and train entrepreneurs in India on decision-making techniques. Last year, Aditya served as the youngest Area Director for the Founder’s District of Toastmasters International and worked on expanding the scope of SSS to include medical schools, law schools, international universities, and news media. In his free time, Aditya loves any activity with movement: from competitive triathlon to Tai-chi to autocross to leaping over things.
