Born in Beijing, China and raised in Ottawa, Canada, Chu is a Master in Public Policy candidate at the Harvard Kennedy School. Throughout his career, Chu has worked with diverse communities to bring their voices to the decision-making table. Prior to HKS, Chu worked in brand marketing, investment banking, and management consulting. As a Consultant at The Boston Consulting Group, Chu focused on public sector projects such as: developing an economic strategy for a large Canadian city and developing new social development policies (e.g., female empowerment programs) for a Middle Eastern government. Outside of work, Chu was the Head of BCG Canada’s LGBTQ Pride Network and an elected University Councilor at Queen’s University. Chu has a Bachelor of Commerce from Queen’s University. In his free time, he loves to travel (over 50 countries and still counting), work out, attend ballets and classical concerts, and watch documentaries. Chu is fluent in English, French, and Mandarin Chinese.
