Dean is a Master of Business Administration (MBA) Candidate at Harvard Business School. His objective for joining HBS was to combine his commercial banking experience with focusing on businesses that challenge some of the world’s most challenging issues. While in banking, Dean worked in Johannesburg, London and Sydney, with focuses on renewable energy, leveraged finance and real estate startups. Over the past eight years, he has co-founded two non-profits, one focusing on entrepreneurship in Cape Town and the other building small school in impoverished areas around Johannesburg. Dean is a former speaker at One Young World and is a Queen’s Young Leader alumnus – two experiences that have shaped his view on the world and set his sights on focusing on impact-based companies.
