Matthew Ferranti, GSAS

Matthew Ferranti is a second-year PhD student in the Department of Economics. His research interests include international finance, trade, and industrial organization. Matthew’s work is supported by a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship. Prior to attending Harvard, Matthew grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and received B.S. and M.S. degrees in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University, where he specialized in decision and risk analysis. At Stanford, Matthew served for two years as Financial Officer of Power to Act, an advocacy group for students with disabilities and their allies. In his free time, Matthew enjoys reading science fiction and fantasy novels, playing classical piano, sharing his knowledge of investing, and visiting national parks. Matthew also serves as Treasurer of the Harvard GSAS Graduate Residence Halls Council.
