A Canadian-Iranian from Dubai, Sahar started her career as a teacher & civic engagement leader in London before working in management consulting at PricewaterhouseCoopers where she served clients in the UK, Europe, the Middle East and South Africa. In 2013, she parted ways from corporate life to work on projects related to ethical and faith-based finance & investing. Through a Dubai-based consultancy, Sahar and her team worked with key stakeholders such as regulators, banks, asset managers, investors and entrepreneurs in places such as Dubai, Khartoum, Kuala Lumpur, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Manama. She led a team that conceived and launched the inaugural and 2017 edition of the Global Ethical Finance Forum in strategic partnership with the Scottish Government and the Royal Bank of Scotland. She also runs an annual global Islamic banking forum in December of every year in partnership with the Central Bank of Bahrain. At Harvard, Sahar is pursuing a joint degree at the Kennedy School of Government and the Divinity School. Sahar has a B.A. in Peace & Conflict Studies and Italian from the University of Toronto, and an M.Sc. in International Political Economy from the LSE. Her three younger siblings are her world and she loves cooking Persian food, hiking and working on her amateur calligraphy skills!
